African Grey Species Information:
The African Grey Parrot is an amazing bird and originates from the rain forests of Africa. They are known for their beauty, intelligence, and personality. There are two popular subspecies of african greys, the congro african grey parrot and the timneh african grey parrot. Timneh greys are smaller then congos and the only difference is that they don't have the vibrant red-tail color of the african congo. Congo greys have various shades of grey over most of their body, with a beautiful crimson-red tail that is generally only a few inches long. They can grow up to 14 inches in length and weigh about a pound. African Grey's are said to have the intellegence of a 5 year old child. With proper nutrition they can live 73-93 years!!
